ISLAMABAD: Reaffirming Pakistan\u2019s unconditional commitment to the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has categorically said that Pakistan will go to any extent to defend the sovereignty of KSA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPakistan fully stands with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both diplomatically and physically. And I would like to underscore here the word \u2018physically\u2019,\u201d he said in an interview with Arab News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DG ISPR said, \u201cPakistan is already there [KSA] and will continue to be there to ensure the protection of Haramain Sharifain and Saudi Arabia,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will go to any extent for the security of Haramain Sharifain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia\u2014to any extent as asked and required by our Saudi brothers,\u201d Ahmed Sharif said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, \u201cIt should be clear that the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Saudi brothers and sisters. There should be no doubt about it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo, in a nutshell, we are there and will continue to defend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any aggression,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that our commitment to Saudi security is unconditional. It stems from a deep-rooted, historical and unbreakable bond between the people of Pakistan and the people of Saudi Arabia, and between the political and military leaderships of both countries, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DG ISPR said that the political and military leaderships of both countries remained in continuous contact and engagement with the Saudi leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that, at the same time, Pakistan was working very earnestly and sincerely, with the help of regional countries and others, to find a negotiated, peaceful outcome of this complex situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said Pakistan is fulfilling the commitments and pledges it has made not only under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement but also under the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
